Furniture Protection Plans

For when life happens to your furniture.

A spilled coffee. A pet that mistook the recliner for a scratching post. A grandkid with a permanent marker. Protection plans cover the kinds of accidents manufacturer warranties don't. Optional, affordable, and easy to use when you need them.

What's a Furniture Protection Plan?

A protection plan is optional coverage you can add to your furniture purchase that covers accidental damage from everyday use. Unlike the manufacturer's warranty, which covers defects, a protection plan covers the things that happen in real homes: stains, rips, tears, burns, scratches, and other accidents that are part of living with furniture.

Adding a plan is a smart, low-cost way to protect a significant investment, especially on upholstered pieces, recliners, and dining tables in households with kids, pets, or a lot of foot traffic.

What Does a Protection Plan Cover?

Coverage varies by plan and product type, but most plans cover:

Accidental food and beverage stains

Pet damage (varies by plan)

Ink, marker, and dye transfer

Burns from candles, cigarettes, or other heat sources

Rips, tears, and punctures

Broken springs, frames, or mechanisms in some plans

Hardware damage from accidents

When you purchase, your salesperson will go through exactly what's covered for your specific piece so there are no surprises later.

What's Not Covered?

Protection plans usually don't cover:

Normal wear and tear

Damage caused intentionally

Damage from neglect or improper care

Pre-existing damage at the time of purchase

Manufacturing defects (those are covered under the manufacturer's warranty instead)

How Do I File a Claim?

1. Call Courtside First
Even if your protection plan provider has a direct claim line, call us at (715) 536-8954 first. We can review the situation, help you understand whether the issue is covered, and walk you through the documentation needed to file successfully.

2. Document the Damage
Take clear photos of the damage from multiple angles. Note the date the damage happened and what caused it. Most plans require this information.

3. Submit the Claim
With our help or directly with the provider, submit the claim along with photos, your purchase info, and any other required details. We're happy to help make sure everything is in order.

4. Resolution
Depending on the damage, the resolution may be a repair, a part replacement, or a full replacement of the piece. We coordinate any service or delivery once the claim is approved.

Is a Protection Plan Worth It?

That depends. Protection plans aren't right for every customer, and we don't push them. But they often make sense for:

  • Upholstered furniture (sofas, sectionals, recliners) where stains and tears are common
  • Leather pieces where accidental damage can be expensive to repair
  • Dining tables that see daily use, spills, and homework sessions
  • Households with kids, pets, or frequent guests
  • High-traffic family rooms where the furniture earns its keep every day

If you're not sure, ask your salesperson. We'll give you an honest answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a protection plan cost?

Cost depends on the piece and the length of the plan (usually 3 or 5 years). Plans are a small percentage of the purchase price. Your salesperson can quote a specific plan for any item you're considering.

When can I add a protection plan?

Protection plans are typically added at the time of purchase.

How long do I have to file a claim?

Most plans require claims to be filed within 30 days of the incident. The sooner you call, the smoother the process. Even if the damage seems small, it's worth reporting.
